Privacy policy

Updated September 5, 2026

This policy covers FileEnc and this website. FileEnc processes encryption and decryption on your computer. We do not receive your files, private keys, filenames, recipients or operation history through these operations.

Data on your device

On macOS, keys and quota records use Keychain; contacts, preferences and optional history stay in the app’s local storage. You can clear history in Settings. Deleting history does not delete your files or keys. Keep your own private-key backup.

Optional time verification

Optional online time checks are enabled by default to help protect daily quotas. The app requests HTTPS response dates from Apple, Microsoft and Cloudflare. Providers can see your IP address and request metadata; no files, keys or account data are sent. Disable these checks in Settings.

Website and support

This site has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts or file-upload service. It remembers your language locally. Hosting and email providers may process technical access logs or support messages. Do not send private keys. Contact us about access, correction or deletion of support correspondence; retention follows the relevant provider and service needs.
